Sam is a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with over 24 years experience in this speciality. He has a broad range of skills in general gynaecology and his areas of interest and specialization include pelvic floor surgery for prolapse and urinary incontinence. He is also the current clinical director for gynaecology.

He is enthusiastically involved in teaching and training medical students and doctors. He is involved in undergraduate teaching of the reproduction unit for the Norwich Medical School at the University of East Anglia, Norwich.

Nationally, he is involved in the assessment of doctors for entry into the specialist register of the GMC and training the future generation of teachers in the speciality.

Outside work he fights an everlasting battle against weeds and falling leaves in his wild garden.
