Jo took up the job of consultant Gynaecologist / Gynaecological Oncologist at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital after several years as Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of London and further subspeciality training in Gynaecological Oncology.

Jo's practice involves the assessment and management of women with cancer and precancer, including women attending postmenopausal bleed clinics, colposcopy and vulvoscopy. He also has a special interest in vulval pathology. He has helped to introduce laparoscopic surgery in gynaecological oncology and more advanced surgical techniques for the management of recurrent malignancy. These roles have resulted in his appointment as Lead for all cancer services at the Norfolk & Norwich.

His other roles include Training Programme Director for the East of England Deanery, Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist Clinical Tutor, educational supervisor for 12 trainees, Lead for the Advanced Training Module in Gynaecological Oncology for the Eastern Region and Honorary Senior Lecturer at UEA.

He also organises a summer exchange with the University of Pamplona, Spain in which 6 medical students spend 4 weeks at the NNUH.

Jo is a keen swimmer and past championship water polo player.
