Our charging structure is within what is known as the "BUPA benefit maxima". This means that you are more likely to be fully covered for any procedures you may have. The partnership is able to provide approximate charges for some tests but you should request further information from Spire or from your insurer for more exact figures.

All our outpatient visits are performed at Spire Hospital Norwich. A referral with a new problem is charged at a rate of £175.00 and a follow-up visit at £150.00.

Please also note that sometimes your consultant will advise you that tests are required at the time of your appointment. In most cases these will be covered by your insurance company. If you have any doubts, check with your insurance company before you come. If you do not have health insurance your consultant will advise you of the approximate costs. Of particular note are the costs of analysis of biopsies which can be up to £600 including the taking of the biopsy. If you wish to ask about this before your appointment please contact us.

The charging of procedures is understandably more complicated. If you are insured once the decision for a procedure to go ahead is made please contact our secretary to obtain the appropriate procedure code and to provide us with some convenient dates. You should then have enough information to arrange the funding of the procedure with your insurers. We are happy to fill in the specialist sections of relevant claim forms with your consent.

If you are self funding it may be appropriate for you to fix the cost of the procedure in advance by contacting Spire Hospital Norwich on 01603 456 181 and asking to speak to customer services who may be able to negotiate an ‘inclusive care' package. You should satisfy yourself that you are happy with the terms and conditions of this way of funding the operation.

Some policies require you to have procedures performed at your local NHS hospital (The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital). On rare occasions for medical reasons your consultant may recommend that your procedure also be performed there.
